ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding in Virginia! We are looking for Transportation Construction Inspector Trainees in the Culpeper district.
As an Inspector Trainee, you will be responsible for supporting transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects.

As an Inspector Trainee, you will be responsible for supporting transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Learning to inspect construction and maintenance projects, developing the necessary knowledge and qualifications.
- Earn required certifications for VDOT roadway and bridge construction inspection projects
- Become familiar with plans, specifications, standards, and related material.
- Perform daily assigned inspections and reports and other tasks under the director of Senior Inspectors and Construction Managers/Directors.
- Inspects excavations, drainage structures, road surfaces, and structures to compare the work performed to plans and specifications, conferring frequently with higher-level inspectors or engineering personnel to clarify or interpret details.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 0-3 years of construction roadway or site inspection experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Knowledgeable in VDOT Road and Bridges specifications and standards is preferred
- OSHA safety requirements on road and bridge construction sites.
- Knowledge of mathematics to include algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
- Skill in the use of field engineering and testing equipment, inspection methods and materials.
- Flexible and willing to work day and night shifts, as well as potential weekend shifts.
- Must be able to obtain the following certifications within 3-6 months of employment:
- Pavement Marking - VDOT
- Intermediate Work Zone - VDOT
- Asphalt Field Levels I and II - VDOT
