What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Assistant position at Atec, Inc.?
Summary
Assist with compiling and maintaining Document Control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to Manufacturing and other operating departments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Scan documents such as blueprints, drawings, quality records, change orders, and specifications. Ensure quality of each scan provides for appropriate legibility.
Save documents to computerized or manual control records.
Maintain related files and recall control log.
Scan and/or copy reports and memorandums and save to the appropriate folder.
Log and file all procedures, drawings, specifications, and software created to manufacture products.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO Specific Duties
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or minimum 2 years experience with engineering documentation; or combination of education and experience.
Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred. Courses in mechanical drawing preferred.

Physical Demands
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Work Environment
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
