Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HVAC Supervisor to oversee field teams responsible for HVAC preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks in Controlled Environmental Vaults (CEVs) supporting the client’s Mobility BTS Operations. This supervisory role requires managing daily operations, ensuring team performance, and maintaining compliance with client guidelines. The Supervisor will also provide hands-on support in the field when necessary, ensuring the operational efficiency of HVAC systems while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Supervise, coordinate, and manage field HVAC technicians, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure all team members adhere to client-approved procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance standards.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, address challenges, and reinforce operational goals.
- Mentor and train technicians to develop skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and HVAC system repair.
Operational Management:
- Oversee and ensure completion of preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, testing, and calibrating HVAC system components.
- Monitor and verify data collection, such as temperature splits, thermostat settings, and load amp draw readings.
- Review and validate system alarms, redundancy functionality, and test results.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all work, including reports on findings, repairs, and recommendations for the MCAC Manager.
- Coordinate with the client’s Contract Administrator for approvals on emergency repairs or complex issues.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement components to optimize team efficiency.
Field Support:
- Assist field teams directly with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks when necessary to meet operational demands.
- Perform hands-on inspections of HVAC system enclosures, condensers, evaporators, and related equipment to ensure system integrity.
- Address and resolve escalated technical issues and emergency repair requests promptly.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Ensure all work performed meets safety, environmental, and client-specific standards.
- Identify potential safety risks (e.g., hazardous conditions, pest activity) and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct quality checks on completed tasks to ensure compliance with guidelines and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage field teams and oversee multiple HVAC projects simultaneously.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, including split systems, economizers, and alarm systems.
- Experience in telecommunications or controlled environments preferred.
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification in HVAC maintenance and repair.
- EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant handling.
- Additional certifications in HVAC energy management or leadership training are a plus.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor field teams.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and economizers.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using HVAC maintenance tools.
- Proficiency in record-keeping, reporting, and using client-approved checklists.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, the MCAC Manager, and the client’s representatives.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and heights.
Work Environment:
- Primarily field-based, overseeing HVAC technicians across the client’s Mobility geographical network.
- Travel to multiple locations as required.
