- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, testing, and calibrating components.
- Record detailed operational data, including temperature splits, thermostat settings, and load amp draw readings, on client-approved checklists.
- Test, label, and validate high/low-temperature alarms and system redundancy.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain condenser and evaporator coils, blower wheels, filters, and refrigerant levels.
- Repair or replace damaged components, such as refrigerant line insulation, contactors, and sensing bulbs.
- Ensure proper thermostat calibration and compressor operation with accurate delay settings.
- Inspect HVAC system enclosures for structural integrity, intrusive vegetation, pest activity, and access obstructions.
- Perform lead/lag controller operational tests and economizer functionality checks.
- Document all findings, repairs, and recommendations in detailed reports to be shared with the MCAC Manager.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental standards while executing tasks.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and coordinate with the client’s Contract Administrator for approvals when necessary.
- Provide pre-and post-maintenance photographic documentation upon request.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in telecommunications or similar controlled environments.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including split systems and economizers.
- Experience with troubleshooting alarms and working with 66 blocks is highly desirable.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification in HVAC maintenance and repair.
- EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
- Additional certifications in energy management or advanced HVAC systems are a plus.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
- Familiarity with client Mobility BTS Operations guidelines is preferred.
- Excellent record-keeping and report-writing skills.
- Ability to identify and address safety risks, including pest control and hazardous environmental conditions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with the MCAC Manager and the client’s Contract Administrator.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and handle HVAC equipment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and heights.
- Primarily field-based, servicing sites within the client’s Mobility geographical network.
- Travel to multiple locations may be required.
