What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at ATech Training, Inc.?
The role of the Production Supervisor is to manage shift production in achieving safety, quality, service, waste, productivity, and culture goals. This will be achieved through strong leadership of the team and managing the systems, equipment, people, and materials according to the established policies, procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Establish and monitor quality standards, methods, facilities, policies and procedures
- Study project requirements, obtain engineering consultation, and determine equipment and facility budgets
- Manage personnel and participate in job description updates, recruiting, interviewing, and selecting candidates
- Assign mentors and oversee execution of specific training curriculum to quickly orient the employee to the job assignment and responsibilities
- Maintain technical skills matrix to track and manage individual growth of all employees
- Maintain production schedule by collaborating with sales, engineering, purchasing, and shipping
- Establishing priorities and scheduling activities and then monitoring progress and revising schedules as necessary and resolving issues along the way
- Maintain and oversee performance of all necessary preventative maintenance for equipment used in the production process, working with Operations Director to contract any special maintenance services or evaluating new production equipment or technologies
- Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed when grievances arise, and perform performance reviews minimally at least once per year
- Manage the production, shipping, and warehouse departments to achieve the company financial goals by preparing and monitoring budgets for COGS and Expense categories, studying costs and initiating cost savings projects or other corrective actions
- Track production efficiency and quality per each product model to analyze production trends and individual assembler performance
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by identifying concerns / hazards, developing and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience managing people in a shop / manufacturing environment
- Process engineering and manufacturing assembly process design experience
- Knowledge of electronics and automotive systems
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Project management experience
- Strong understanding of ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading teams implementing lean manufacturing principles
- Participation in ERP system implementation
Other Requirements:
This position typically requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Occasionally heavy work can constitute exerting up to 50 pounds of force to lift or move items.
