Job Description:
- client is seeking a Facility Maintenance Lead to join our team in Lafayette, IN.
- Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:30 am – 3 pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
- This position will Lead a team of 10 employees supporting technical operations at the client’s facility.
- The scope of service includes the maintaining, development, execution, and continuously improve the preventative and predictive maintenance activities at the client’s site.
- The equipment included in the scope is:
- Multi-Axis Wet and Dry Grinders
- Balancers
- Central Coolant Systems
- Pumps and Exhaust systems
- HVAC Units
- Hydraulic and electrical systems
- Robotic Tool Changers
- The Lead is responsible for technical support, direction, safety training, audits and quality control for client facility, production and/or contract employees in a fast-paced industrial production environment.
- This Lead will also be able to perform as the technical expert with respect to installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting the electrical/electronic, mechanical and controls needs of automated equipment in an industrial environment.
- Maintains, improves, and troubleshoots, Machine Tools, Automated and CNC Machines with PLC and distributed I/O control systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens 7, GE, Emerson, Reliance, Omron, Ceda, Honeywell and related controllers.
- Must be well versed in robots and robotic control systems such as Fanuc, ABB, Mazatrol Kuka, Yaskawa, Kawasaki, Denso and Mitsubishi.
- Must be fluent working with instrumentation such as thermocouples; RTDs and pressure, flow, position and level transducers; and associated equipment and techniques.
- Works with voltage from control (12-24V) through medium voltage motor controls 480 volts, 3 phase.
- This position provides instructions and mentors and trains less skilled technicians as required.
- Must be an effective communicator with team, site management, vendors and customers.
- This position will lead small to large repair, overhauls and construction projects with minimal supervision.
- The Maintenance Lead must have the ability to identify troubleshoot and correct any operational or safety-related issues and perform independent equipment root cause evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Identifies and documents cost savings.
- The Lead is responsible for the prioritization of work based on the needs of the client and for the on-time completion of all work, as well as all documentation involved.
- Provides and / or schedules needed training and cross-training for multi-functional employees.
- Implements all safety rules and guidelines for all client employees.
- The Lead is also responsible for scheduling, planning, documentation, maintaining performance and reporting with client management team and client.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors and/or manages the entry of correct documentation and scheduled maintenance via CMMS (Maximo).
- Manages reactive/corrective maintenance as it is reported and distributes to available technicians.
- Audits work performance for safety action client and quality of work, and provide coaching as needed.
- Maintains effective performance of individual employees and the worksite team.
- Review’s time and downtime reporting to ensure 99.9% accuracy.
- Compiles, maintains and presents various reports to client management and client teams.
- Participate and Document Cost savings and Root Cause Analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Ten years of experience in a technical role related to industrial Production Maintenance and/or industrial Facilities Maintenance or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of lead experience in in industrial Production Maintenance and/or industrial Facilities Maintenance.
- Ability to work from aerial lifts and scissors lift from height up to 30ft. and above

- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
- This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
- Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
- Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other client, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
- Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
- Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the client, client management and Team members
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade school credentials preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites with emphasis on the ability to navigate and formulate within Excel and Access
- Experience in a supervisory or subcontract management capacity within a technical industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience in a leadership position demonstrating the ability to analyze Facilities Maintenance related problems (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Cranes and Hoists, etc.); then recognize and determine solutions (engineered or otherwise) for resolution.
- This includes but is not limited to; opportunities for improved asset reliability, improved quality results, safer work conditions, and lower maintenance cost, improved work plans to increase efficiency.
- Experience creating Power Point presentation and giving presentation in front of large audiences
- Experience with the development and training of a multi-skilled technical workforce
- Experience creating metrics and data mining for driving performance results
- Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 4 M’s, etc.
