Overview
ATGI is currently seeking Surgical Technologists (OR) to support the Richmond VA Medical Center located at1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23249. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with on-call duties. If you accept employment with ATGI, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either ATGI or its customers. Responsibilities
- Provides the full range of operating room technician services within the scope of practice for a variety of operative procedures
- Ensures that all JHACO standards for care are met during performance of patient care
- Completes appropriate medical record forms in compliance with VA guidelines and policies on each patient
- Verifies the content and correctness of all recorded entries in the patient record; all documentation/records/reports must meet or exceed established VA standards to include, but not limited to: timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature; the outpatient record shall be completed the same day the patient is seen
- Completes all appropriate medical record forms in compliance with VA guidelines and policies on each patient
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Has completed a qualifying course of study as an operating room technician
- Has been actively performing both scrub and circulating functions within the operating room
- Has and maintains current BLS certification
- Has no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties
- Has documented training and skills verification
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
