Description
Athena Care is currently seeking a Medical Technician for our Murfreesboro clinic. The schedule for this position will be 9AM-6PM Monday through Friday.
The Medical Technician provides patient observation and care for patients undergoing interventional psychiatry treatments in accordance with provider-established guidelines and protocols.
- Assists with interventional treatments as directed and in accordance with policy and procedure
- Orders and maintains inventory of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and FDA guidelines.
- Appropriately and accurately documents in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Effectively and accurately performs laboratory procedures including completion of drug screens, venipuncture draw, vital signs, and / or other specialty tests.
- Appropriately engages with and supports patients based on therapeutic best practices.
- Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality, as well as compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, etc).
- As needed, schedules patient appointments.
- As needed, responds to patient communications quickly and efficiently.
- Identifies and resolves work problems to ensure quality patient service.
- Communicates effectively within the organization providing regular updates to providers, supervisors and peers about current and completed tasks.
- Provides coverage for other work areas when needed
- Other duties as assigned
