Description
The Verification of Benefits Coordinator works with the VOB Team Lead to support the Company's revenue cycle efforts by contacting insurance companies for assigned locations to verify the patient's specific mental health benefits, asking appropriate questions regarding the patient's benefits, and completing data entry and / or appropriate forms to document the patient's benefits coverage.
Core Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Collects and reviews all patient insurance information needed to complete the Mental Health benefit verification process.
- Verifies patient specific Mental Health benefits and precisely documents specifics for various payer plans including patient coverage, cost share, and access / provider options according to Program specific SOPs.
- Verification process could include electronic validation and direct calls to the Insurance Company based on the specific Patient.
- Identifies any restrictions and details on how to expedite patient access.
- Completes quality review of work as part of finalizing product.
- Reports any payer trends / delays to the VOB Team Lead.
- Work requires focus, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing work situations.
