Role Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be a vital contributor to Athena's engineering team, role is hybrid from our Palo Alto, CA office, focusing on creating and maintaining robust infrastructure in a cloud environment. This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), development tools, distributed systems, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Development : Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure on GCP, ensuring it supports the company's software development and deployment needs.
- Tooling and Automation : Develop and maintain a suite of tools to automate deployment, monitoring, and management of infrastructure, improving efficiency and reliability.
- Distributed Systems Management : Oversee the architecture and management of distributed systems, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- SRE and Observability : Implement SRE best practices to enhance system reliability and performance, and build observability into the infrastructure to enable proactive issue detection and resolution.
- DevOps Collaboration : Work closely with the DevOps team to streamline CI / CD pipelines and facilitate smooth deployment cycles.
- Incident Management : Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis to continuously improve infrastructure resilience.
- Cost Optimization : Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising on performance.
