Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Cardiac Sonographer to provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services in a hospital and/or clinical setting. This role combines technical expertise with patient care, ensuring high-quality imaging results in a supportive, team-driven environment. You will play a key role in the diagnosis and care planning of patients with cardiovascular conditions, contributing directly to the health and wellness of those we serve.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine, emergent, portable, surgical, and pediatric echocardiograms in accordance with department protocols.
- Communicate effectively with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless diagnostic workflows.
- Support patient care with transport assistance, preparation, and education during procedures.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work environment; assist in restocking supplies, file work, and equipment cleaning.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to uphold imaging accuracy and consistency.
- Engage in data entry and clerical duties associated with diagnostic documentation.
- Be available for on-call or standby shifts, as required by department needs.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Education: One of the following must be completed:
- A 2-year AMA-approved program 1 year of ultrasound training and certification
- 2 years of Allied Health 2-year ARDMS program and certification
- AMA-accredited ultrasound program ARDMS or CCI registration (or within 1 year of hire for new grads)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Licensure/Certifications (must be obtained within required timeframes):
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) – within 12 months of hire
- Sonography Technologist License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – within 1 month of hire
Nice-to-Have Skills & Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Stress Echocardiography, and Pediatric Echocardiography
- Strong technical, organizational, and time management skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate clinical confidence in conducting exams
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to maintain positive relationships with patients and care teams
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $141,000.00 per year
