Job Summary:
Salary depends on experience level of candidate (DOE).We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology CT Technician (CT Tech) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. The Radiology CT Tech will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT Scans: Operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images of patients’ internal structures, as requested by physicians.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for CT procedures, ensuring their comfort and explaining the process to minimize anxiety.
- Positioning: Accurately position patients and the CT equipment to capture the most relevant and high-resolution images.
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure the images are of the highest diagnostic quality.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and radiation protection standards to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of the CT scanner and other imaging equipment. Report any technical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Patient History: Obtain and review patient medical history, including any contraindications for contrast use or potential risks.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedures, and images in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Quality Control: Review images to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards and repeat scans if necessary.
Qualifications: Education:
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- CT certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified time frame.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Radiology Technician with a focus on CT imaging.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
Licensing/Certifications:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certified in CT (CT) by the ARRT (or eligible).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in operating CT imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and radiology procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
- Strong understanding of patient safety, infection control, and radiation protection.
Working Conditions:
- The schedule would be Tues – Friday 8a-6:30p (schedule may be adjusted to Wednesday – Saturday once a month as needed. Saturday would be at the Douglas location)
- Must be able to work in a hospital or clinical setting, standing for long periods, and assisting patients as needed.
