Corporate Strategy Associate We are looking for an Associate to join our Corporate Strategy and Development team here at athenahealth. The Corporate Strategy Associate will support athenahealth during an exciting period in its history as the company continues to grow in its core markets and builds a repeatable model for business building and acquisitions to offer new services and enter adjacent markets. In this role, this individual will report to the Senior Corporate Strategy & Development Manager and will work to provide tactical support related to the setting and actioning of athenahealth’s strategy, as well as the shaping of key resource investment decisions to be made by the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. The Corporate Strategy Associate will also work closely with other members of the CS&D team to drive high-visibility and high-impact work that is data driven, timely, and actionable. The Team: The Corporate Strategy and Development (CSD) division was formed to play a critical role in helping to drive athenahealth’s growth agenda. The division’s charter spans strategy, partnerships (athenahealth’s Marketplace and strategic partners) and M&A. Our team is a high-visibility and high impact group that will interface across all levels of the company. Job Responsibilities Tactical execution of research projects using a variety of sources in support of the evaluation of growth opportunities, assessment of critical competitive or market issues, and partnership/acquisition diligence. Help to structure initial research approaches in a manner that reflects an understanding of the overall context, problem, and key project hypotheses. Develop, update, and refine analytics/excel models to identify issues and opportunities on topics such as: market evaluation and sizing, investment cases, and tracking of internal programs. Translate analytic output and conclusions into meaningful and compelling communications; Support the senior members of the team by contributing to the creation and refinement of major deliverables, often owning a work stream or component of the deliverable. Develop continuous expertise on key competitors (including offerings, strategies, KPIs, etc. ), monitor market for relevant developments, and maintain an internal quantitative market model. Contribute directly to the annual strategic planning and monitoring process including preparation of related materials for presentation to the ELT and Board of Directors. Typical Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with proven high achievement 1 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or relevant corporate role Strong intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in healthcare (specific knowledge in healthcare IT a plus but not required Demonstrated unyielding attention to detail and analytical accuracy Strong aptitude for critical thinking and interest in complex problem solving Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint; Intermediate proficiency in Excel About athenahealth Here’s our vision: To create a thriving ecosystem that delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.  What’s unique about our locations?
