Software Engineer – Clinical Gaps and Care Pathways

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Clinical Gaps and Care Pathways team within our athenaClinicals Product Engineering organization.

   

You are a developer with experience building full stack web applications, preferably in public and private cloud environments. You are an excellent communicator that is capable of quickly picking up the complicated healthcare space.  

The Team

Our athenaClinicals – Ambulatory team builds code that matters, working on the doctors’ workflows that is used by over 160,000 healthcare providers daily. We build the interface that makes the interactions between these providers and the electronic health record as seamless as possible, and elevate what the doctor needs to see, when they need to see it. This team is innovative, passionate, and driven by our mission to help make an impact.

Doctors and their teams are incredibly busy, often moving from patient to patient with little time to spare. The Clinical Gaps and Care Pathways team is dedicated to building solutions that help providers ensure their patients receive the best possible care, regardless of how packed their schedules may be. By prioritizing actionable, patient-centric, best practice care recommendations within the provider’s workflow, we empower providers to focus more on their patients, assured that the necessary information is easily accessible.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Design and develop code on an agile team of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer 
  • Collaborate with team members to promote productivity and effectiveness; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization 
  • Develop knowledge and domain expertise. Take ownership of what you and the team build and coordinate your efforts across the teams to ensure proper completion

Typical Qualifications 

  • About 2-4 years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent  
  • Proficient in Java or at least one modern programming language, relational databases, with modern UI frameworks helpful.
  • Experience with ReactJS a plus
  • Interest in health tech an added plus
  • We work in an Agile environment, so any Agile experience or knowledge of CI/CD concepts is helpful  
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, RESTful API, and various other technologies is helpful
