Athens Country Club is a member-owned Club established in 1946 in beautiful East Texas. The Club offers an 18-hole championship golf course with practice facilities and a fully stocked pro shop, tennis and pickleball courts, a large outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and locker rooms. The Club offers a variety of full-service dining areas, including two outdoor patios. We also offer a banquet area capable of serving up to 300 guests. Athens Country Club strives to provide a full-service experience for our members with a small-town family feel.
ACC is seeking someone to fill a newly created clubhouse manager position. In addition to other responsibilities, the clubhouse manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Food and Beverage department, including but not limited to supervising the front-of-house staff, planning and executing member and outside events, and overseeing the swimming pool operations, all while exceeding the expectations of our club members, their families, and guests.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee all aspects of food and beverage services by ensuring high standards of quality and service are constantly exceeded.
· Work closely with the kitchen manager to help create and price new and exciting seasonal menus for various events and outlets.
· Oversee and grow our banquet department by acquiring and hosting outside events, creating new member events, and providing a one-stop venue for our members to host their special events and parties.
· Institute and enforce inventory control practices.
· Ensure the clubhouse is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
· Supervise the upkeep and maintenance of the clubhouse facilities.
· Work closely with the General Manager in all operational aspects of the clubhouse as needed and directed
· Maintain a high level of visibility and member interaction throughout the club
· Assists in onboarding new employees, recruitment, training, supervision, and termination of clubhouse staff.
· Assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications
· Proven experience managing food and beverage operations, preferably in a club or hospitality setting.
· Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee multiple departments with a highly visible, energetic, and hands-on management style.
· A personal demeanor with the ability to motivate our staff to consistently improve service standards.
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards.
· Basic understanding of maintenance and facility upkeep.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the kitchen manager while overseeing the Food and Beverage Department, including the kitchen, bar, banquet area, and event coordination.
