Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Execute route driving efficiently, delivering products to customers in a timely manner.
- Load and unload items, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks for heavy lifting when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries or concerns professionally.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is essential.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Experience with route driving and knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns will be beneficial.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the job.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required; commercial driving experience is highly desirable.
