What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon Primary Assistant position at Athens Montessori School?
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable afternoon assistant to help in our aftercare classroom. Our assistants play a key role in our school, as they are responsible for caring for our young students. It is essential to like and respect children and to see them as individuals with their own potential. We aim to support their growth and development without passing judgment. The ideal candidate should be able to stay calm, show kindness, and have an enjoyment for life, while being able to foster a positive and nurturing environment for our young learners. This position requires individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive and who are committed to creating a safe and supportive classroom setting.
- Support the Lead Teacher by creating a nurturing and educational Montessori environment.
- Assist with supporting students.
- Help students learn, develop, and communicate.
- Collaborate with other assistants and faculty.
- Create a positive and educational atmosphere for children.
- Attend and engage in meetings for faculty and staff.
- Ensure the classroom is clean and welcoming to students and parents.
- Communicate with parents on a daily basis.
- Support students with daily needs.
Pay for this position is $14 an hour, and hours are Mon-Fri 11 : 30-5 : 30.
Individuals must pass a background check in order to qualify for the position.
CPR and first aid training along with a Health and safety orientation are required upon hire.
