What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Dentist position at Athens Neighborhood Health Center?
Athens Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a dentist to join our team! This position will be working with patients of all ages, but with a strong focus on elementary and middle school students at our school-based health center. The dentist will also offer services through our mobile unit, travelling to different schools in the Athens-Clarke County school district. As a federally qualified health center, our centers exist to help the underserved population in the area, and are eager to welcome our newest team member.
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct dental care to adults and children by performing oral exams,
- Developing individual treatment plans
- Performing procedures such as fillings and extractions
- Taking impressions for dental appliances
- Assessing pain and prescribing medications as appropriate
- Providing education to patients regarding proper dental hygiene
- General supervision of the on-site dental hygienist
- Ensuring safe and efficient operations of the dental clinic
Qualifications and Skills
- Licensed to practice dentistry in Georgia
- 2 years as a practicing dentist preferred
- Able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally;
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
