Director of Talent Development


Job Description Summary


As the Director of Talent Development at Athens Services, you will play a pivotal role in advancing workforce capabilities, ensuring that our team members have the skills needed for success. Collaborating closely with department heads, subject matter experts, and external partners, you will identify training requirements and design impactful programs while assessing their effectiveness. Your leadership will steer a team of training professionals, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and professional advancement.


Job Description


  • Develop and drive the talent development strategy to support and align with company objectives.
  • Conduct needs assessments regularly to identify skill gaps, link employee and leadership competencies to organizational requirements, devise learning strategies, and provide appropriate learning offerings to employees and leaders across the organization.
  • Implement a data-driven approach to assess program effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Identify and manage the implementation of suitable learning solutions and training methods that align with the overall learning strategy, customizing as needed.
  • Manage performance management tools and processes to support employee growth.
  • Partner with department and HR leadership to identify high-potential employees and corresponding talent development initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate talent development with other HR functions, such as talent acquisition, compensation, and employee engagement
  • Manage the budget for talent development programs and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in talent development and apply best practices.
  • Lead and mentor a team of talent development professionals who cultivate a high-performing culture that promotes inclusion and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with management and HR partners to address performance issues and recommend appropriate training solutions.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional certification in talent development, such as APTD, CPTD, or CPTM.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in learning and development, talent development, and/or organizational development, including at least three (3) years of supervisory training experience.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in talent development and performance management.
  • Experience in instructional design, learning interventions, and training delivery.
  • Track record of designing and implementing effective learning programs and interventions.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to address stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in mentoring teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends and travel locally as needed to support business.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role with or without accommodations.
