Position Summary: The purpose of the Accounting Clerk position is to assist the ministry efforts of the Business Office through day-to-day invoice processing, communication with internal and external vendors, reconciliations, and other duties as assigned.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Agree to ACC’s doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in What We Believe/Vision statement
• Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Competent in computer skills including MS Office, QuickBooks and typing
• Quick learner, hardworking, well-organized, and adaptable
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines
• 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping functions
• Maintain ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed
• Review invoices to ensure proper coding is used for expense accounts and the accuracy of data entry points and amounts
• Input invoices into the AP system and route them to the correct parties for approvals and payments
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Assist with monitoring the accuracy of billings to ensure receipt of goods/services and reduce the potential for duplicate payments
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
• Reconciliation of assigned accounts
• Perform filing, mailing, and other duties as assigned
• Connect with staff to ensure timely submission and approval of invoices, contractor submissions, credit card expense reports, and purchase orders
• Assist with maintaining department email inbox and phone lines, responding to questions and other inquiries
• Ensure duties are completed for month-end deadlines
• All other duties as assigned
