Athletes Untapped is the nation's #1 private coaching platform. We're seeking high-quality volleyball coaches & trainers in the Salt Lake City, UT area - this includes the city and all surrounding suburbs.
Qualified candidates are welcome to apply. Our coaches typically have at least one of the following experiences: current college player, former college player, current professional player, former professional player, college coach, high school coach, part-time private coach, full-time private coach.
If you're accepted beyond the screening process, you will be required to pass a background check.
Expectations & Coach Contract
- Bookings & Scheduling: We run an 80/20 split with coaches - where coaches keep 80%, and AU keeps 20%. We require all bookings - new & repeat - from Athletes Untapped clients to be processed through our platform. Coaches cannot accept Venmo, cash, or any other form of payment off platform. We enforce a strict one-strike policy with this. If coaches take clients off platform, our business wouldn't survive and we wouldn't be able to help you succeed!
- Communication: All communication is required to stay on platform. You can't encourage clients to go off platform through text or email. Our sleek website and mobile app are designed to help you easily manage your inbox, bookings, and scheduling. You'll have access to a calendar where you manage your lessons throughout the week. Using your calendar is required since it's how you self-process payments after each lesson.
- Commitment & Ideal Coach: This is a 1099, independent contractor position. Coaches are required to be available for at least 8 hours (lessons) per week, and they must be available to coach for the next 12 months. Ideally, you'll stay with us longer than 12 months but it's the minimum requirement. The best AU coaches are the most engaged and motivated to work with clients. They respond to all clients within a few hours, accept all booking requests, and process re-bookings with every client (the goal is 10 lessons with every client). The more clients, bookings, and reviews you receive, the better your visibility & ranking will be on our platform - and the more you'll earn!
About the Company & Role
- What we do: At our core, we're an online platform connecting parents/kids with private sports coaches for training. Think Airbnb or Rover, but for private sports coaching. It's our job to help coaches elevate their training business & provide the tech to easily manage it!
- How it Works: We help private sports coaches grow, or start, their business. We provide you with the tech tools - messaging, scheduling, booking, and top-notch customer support - needed to succeed. We also run marketing for our coaches, so potential clients can find your profile on our website and inquire about scheduling lessons. We're a one-stop-shop to help your business on the marketing/support side, ensuring you get to focus on what matters most - coaching!
- Gym/Field Space & Equipment: We don't provide training space or equipment, and a lot of our coaches train outdoors - at parks or fields. We ultimately leave it up to coaches & parents to determine when & where to train. If you can't find a space though, let us know and we'd be happy to help.
- $/Session: We let coaches choose their price per session. Across the country, we've seen ranges from $30-$150/session - but again, totally up to you!
- Who we are: The owners are a married couple with collegiate & professional sports backgrounds. Once their playing days ended, they started private coaching to stay involved with the game & earn extra income - and they loved it. Realizing there wasn't a go-to platform meant to help private coaches scale their business, they built AU knowing the impact private coaching can make on an athlete's life trajectory.
