Qualifications:

- The applicant shall be one who has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and can articulate the Gospel and their testimony in any situation.
- The applicant shall be a member in good standing of an evangelical church and have multiple references that will verify that.
- The applicant will provide examples of systematically using the game of football to disciple young people in the past and can point to former players out in the world currently doing the same thing (Proverbs 22:6).
- The applicant has proven success as a Head Coach or coordinator at the varsity level in a private school or UIL 3A level and above.
- The applicant will be able to give tangible evidence of investing in their community for God’s glory.
- The applicant shall be a college graduate, and one who feels called by God to Christian education.
Job Duties:
Spiritual:
- Systematically create opportunities to share the Gospel and grow disciples through the game of football (Mathew 4:19).
- Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ (Psalm 62:1-2).
- Coach in a way that gives glory to God through the game of football (Colossians 3:23).
- Seek to role model in attitude, speech and actions a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).
- Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization and study, prayer, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship (Psalm 119:11).
- Create opportunities to use the game of football as a vehicle to love our neighbors (Mark 12:31).
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
General Responsibilities:
- Cooperate with administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school (Romans 13).
- The applicant shall demonstrate a familiarity with the operations of a school athletic program, and possess the personality and administrative skills required for success (Luke 12:42-48).
- Maintain regularly scheduled hours as assigned by the supervisor.
- Keep students, parents, coaches and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure (Matthew 5:37).
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered work environment.
- Support the broader program of the school by attending extra-curricular activities when possible.
Professional:
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth including the systematic scheduling of athletic events around all on campus staff development opportunities.

Upper School Head Football Coach
- Set up a systematic plan for using the game of football to disciple athletes on a daily basis.
- Oversee the entire Upper School & Middle School football program, including but not limited to promotion of the football program. Develop practice and game schedules, monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular participation, oversee cleaning, repair and secure storage of equipment and uniforms, ensure compliance with all TAPPS regulations.
- Work with the Athletic Director in hiring and supervision of football coaching assistants.
- Implement preseason, in-season, postseason and offseason plans - including summer camps.
- Football administrative duties such as picking officials, scheduling sub-varsity games, etc.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist the Director of Athletics to coordinate and administer the Campus High School and Middle School Athletic Programs in accordance with FBCA athletic objectives and guidelines.
- Responsible for collecting CPR, AED and First Aid compliance cards from coaches to meet TAPPS compliance requirements.
- Responsible for creating gym guidelines at their campus.
- Coordinate and ensure the preparation of all Campus athletic events.
- Coordinate High School and Middle School coaching assignments with approval of the Executive Director of Athletics.
- Coordinate all campus level athletic schedules.
- Coordinate system for maintaining a complete and accurate high school athletic equipment inventory.
- Create a system for monitoring Middle School teams implementation of philosophies, schemes, strategies, techniques, skills, offenses and defenses as stressed by the High School Head coach.
- Assist in interviewing candidates for campus athletic positions.
- Assist the Director of Athletics in evaluating the performance of all campus-based programs and coaches.
- Possess and demonstrate the ability of effective communication with students, staff, faculty and community at all times.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of all TAPPS rules and regulations.
- Assist all Head coaches in the planning and management of their programs as needed.
- Assist with the management of all TAPPS competitive activities that occur at the home campus as well as additional tournaments/meets held by FBCA.
- Coordinate and schedule all necessary event supervisors and game support staff for all campus-based athletic activities.
- Assist the Director of Athletics with development of a program to ensure that all phases of UIL compliance are adequately addressed each year with athletes, staff, parents, faculty and community.
- Monitor and manage all PAPF’s for all athletic programs.
- In addition, job duties include others as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, including in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, frequently lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- This position is an exempt, twelve month, full-time assignment. He/she is eligible for full-time benefits. The position regularly requires that work be performed evenings and weekends. This job description is subject to change during the school year.
