Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to help manage company inventory by processing customer sales and returns and to execute the routine operations of a shipping department.

Essential Functions:

• Welcome delivery trucks and safely load/unload products

• Process in-person sales for clients

• Process shipments and deliveries according to company policy

• Occasional in-person delivery might be required

• Inspect and prepare incoming/outgoing products for damage

• Sort and place materials and items according to organizational standards

• Operate machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks

• Physically receive and count materials received, report count to supervisor

• Label products and store them in an organized manner

• Communicate efficiently with supervisors and teammates

• Comply with regulations and procedures to align with quality service standards

• Ensure your work environment is clean, tidy and safe for you and others around you

• Ability to handle fragile materials

• Utilize logistics software programs to enter data and inventory (Fishbowl)

• Document and track shipping departure and arrival times

• Wrap and unwrap stock from pallets

• Containerize basic loads

• Tag and label products according to shape, size, type, etc.

• Properly use and maintain warehouse equipment and vehicles

Skills / Abilities:

• Pallet jack and forklift operation

• Dolly hand trucks

• Able to correctly package items in a safe and efficient manner

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds

• Productive in fast paced environments

• Reliable and dependable

• Good time management skills

• Customer service

• Stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, hear, and walk.

Education / Experience:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• 1-2 years of previous general labor/warehouse experience

• Forklift and similar machine experience

Certifications:

Forklift operator’s or license

Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations
CDL not required but preferred

Work Environment:

While performing the essential functions of this job at Traffic Depot, this individual spends about 100% of their time working in a warehouse, shop setting. This individual may be expected to assist in sign making, quality checking or packaging traffic signs and stencils made-to-order.

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Produce shipping reports and summaries
Train new associates

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
