What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sports Performance position at Athletic Republic Portland?
Overview
We are looking for the final member of the leadership team at SportsLab: the Director of Sports Performance. This role will build up the Athletic Republic programming side of the business.
The first quarter will mainly be focused on the following three buckets
- Working with the GM to build and manage the performance team to optimize program and staff scheduling.
- Teach classes/train athletes to maximize new member acquisition.
- Athletic Republic Program implementation & development - working with the physical therapy team to advance S&C and Athletic Republic programming (for high school and adult athletes.)
Over time, the role will evolve into a systems-focused role, developing high-performance and PT bridge (BASECAMP) programs. As we expand and open more centers, the Director of Sports Performance will manage the performance teams at all centers.
The compensation and logistics of the job are as follows:
Logistics and Compensation:
Starting Base Salary: $60,000-$90,000 depending on experience

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related degree.
- Masters in exercise science preferred.
- NSCA, ACSM, or equivalent Strength and Conditioning Certification.
- Experience leading and managing and scheduling teams/personnel.
- Experience working with athletes of all ages.
- Data focused and results-oriented.
- Excellent hospitality and customer service.
