Position Summary:
Clinton Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head High School Cheer Coach to lead our cheer program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive cheerleading program that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. The coach will provide expert instruction in cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety, while also promoting academic excellence and positive character development among student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that aligns with the school's mission and athletic department's goals.
- Plan and organize practices, tryouts, and performances.
- Coordinate fundraising activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, injuries, and equipment.
- Coaching & Instruction:
- Provide expert instruction in cheerleading techniques, including jumps, stunts, tumbling, and choreography.
- Develop and teach routines for football and basketball games, pep rallies, and competitions.
- Ensure the safety of all cheerleaders by enforcing proper safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to cheerleaders.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among cheerleaders.
- Develop and implement team rules and expectations.
- Mentor and guide cheerleaders in their academic and personal development.
- Instill a strong sense of school spirit and pride.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open and effective communication with cheerleaders, parents, school administrators, and athletic department staff.
- Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to support school-wide events.
- OSSAA Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) rules and regulations.
- Maintain current certifications and training as required by OSSAA and the school district.
- Handle all aspects of competition entries and eligibility.
