Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Fitness Manager to lead our team in promoting health and wellness within our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fitness management, with expertise in various exercise modalities such as yoga, kickboxing, CrossFit, Barre, Pilates, etc. This role requires a passion for fitness, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive membership growth through effective sales strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with a variety of administrative tasks
- Maintain knowledge of various Group Ex classes on the schedule and be able to sub when needed
- Direct and lead Run Club, engaging local runners and partner businesses
- Oversee daily operations of the fitness facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members.
- Develop and implement fitness programs that cater to diverse member interests and skill levels.
- Lead and mentor fitness staff, providing training in areas such as dance, sports coaching, and physiology knowledge.
- Drive membership sales through effective marketing strategies and community outreach initiatives.
- Monitor member progress and provide personalized guidance to help them achieve their fitness goals.
- Organize workshops, classes, and events to enhance member engagement and retention.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices to ensure the facility remains competitive.
- Collaborate with other departments to create a cohesive health club experience for all members.
Qualifications
- Must have own vehicle and be able to move freely between our Athol and Orange locations.
- Proven experience in fitness management or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various fitness disciplines including yoga, kickboxing, CrossFit, Pilates, and dance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Background in fitness sales with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Understanding of exercise physiology and its application in program design.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction is highly desirable.
