What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Athol-Royalston Regional School District?
- Selecting, administering, and scoring appropriate psychological tests as well as interpreting test
results and preparing psychological reports for teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Assessing an individual student's needs, limitations, and potential, using observation, review of
school records, and consultation with parents and school personnel.
- Compiling and interpreting students' test results, along with information from teachers and
parents, to diagnose conditions, and to help assess eligibility for special services.
- Assists in the development of individualized educational plans in collaboration with teachers and other staff
members
- Providing consultation to parents, teachers, administrators, and others on topics such as learning
styles and behavioral support techniques.
- Collecting and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and other
services, such as behavioral management systems while promoting an understanding of child
development and its relationship to learning and behavior.
- Other responsibilities include maintaining student records, including special education reports,
confidential records, and records of services provided, and behavioral data preserving legal and
organizational regulatory guidelines as well as collaborating with other educational professionals
to develop teaching strategies and school programs.
