Traffic Control Technician – (Traffic Controller)
ATI Traffic Control LLC is currently looking for Traffic Control Technicians to join its ever-growing team full of growth opportunities and advancements. Our goal is to provide excellent quality Traffic Control Services for our contractors and their work areas, the construction crew, the public, and our team.
As a Traffic Control Technician, you are responsible for directing and managing the flow of pedestrians and traffic by placing cones and other channeling devices to guide traffic in a particular direction, warn them of upcoming situations with signs, stopping and releasing traffic while construction is taking place, and use hand signals to indicate pedestrians and drivers’ proper steps to follow through the road around temporary work sites smoothly and safely.
Because a traffic control technician’s duty is to ensure the safety of others throughout this process, it is important to demonstrate the following abilities:
- Ability to receive and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly, and courteously.
- Ability to control and correctly signal others using devices, such as paddles, flags, hands, etc.
- Ability to maintain focus throughout entire job to prevent and avoid dangerous situations by always being alert (hearing, seeing, and recognizing potential dangers) and warn others in sufficient time to avoid injury.
- Ability to understand and apply safety traffic control practices in all situations.
Requirements:
- Current and clean Driver’s License
- Must pass Drug Test
- Must pass Background Check
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, place, and assemble traffic control signs and cones. Lifting may be up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while flagging through various weather conditions, temperatures, and times of day/night.
