What You'll Do
Setup and operate NC and CNC machines and any conventional machines in the Casting Cells to perform a variety of turning, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, threading, forming, facing, milling, slotting, grooving, chamfering, serrating and deburring operations to produce a variety of explosion-proof parts of various materials
Operate machines include, but are not limited to, single spindle and multi-spindle drill presses and tappers; milling machines; parts washers; and deburring grinder
Refer to assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and machining blueprints to maintain tolerances.
Set controls and perform other manual data input functions as required, review operation data sheets, parts program, tape readouts and prints, and change collets and/or chucks; load and unload parts; load, unload and adjust tools as necessary
Check first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges; gauge periodically and visually inspect all parts for appearance and compliance to specifications; correct for any discrepancies.
Maintain a supply of materials to machines and remove finished work as necessary to establish a flow through the cells
Operate fork truck to facilitate own work or to move material around department as required
Maintain work area, machines and control units in a clean, neat and orderly condition and follow 5-S's principles
Qualifications
2 years' previous work experience in CNC machine setup and operation
MUST live 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered.
Active-Duty Military candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
