Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Weekend RN Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Atkins Nursing and Rehab, a leading long-term care facility. As the Weekend RN Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the clinical operations of the facility during weekend shifts, ensuring high-quality care and a positive environment for our residents.
As a Weekend RN Supervisor, you will also be responsible for performing essential nursing treatments, including but not limited to wound care, medication administration, and other clinical interventions as needed. You will ensure that all treatments are administered in accordance with the care plan, facility protocols, and regulatory guidelines. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining continuity of care over the weekend, providing both direct clinical care and oversight to ensure optimal health outcomes for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Clinical Care: Oversee nursing staff to ensure proper care for residents in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and best practices.
- Staff Management: Provide leadership, support, and guidance to nursing staff during weekend shifts, including LPNs, CNAs, and other team members.
- Resident Care: Ensure that residents receive timely and appropriate care, assessments, and interventions. Respond to medical emergencies and provide nursing interventions as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate nursing care documentation, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborative Team Leadership: Work closely with other healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, social workers, physical therapists) to ensure holistic care for residents.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a supportive learning environment and assisting with continuing education.
- Medication Management: Oversee medication administration, ensuring proper documentation, and address any medication-related issues or concerns.
- Resident & Family Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide updates on residents' health status.
- Shift Oversight: Manage staffing levels, ensuring proper nurse-to-resident ratios, and oversee time management during weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas (required).
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR and BLS certification (required).
- Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical software is preferred.
Schedule:
- Part-time, Rotating Weekend Shift (Saturday and Sunday)
- Flexibility to occasionally cover additional shifts as needed.
