Atkins & Pearce is seeking a full-time Technical Writer to document and standardize essential operational knowledge within our manufacturing environment. This role is critical in preserving the expertise of our Production employees, Engineers, and supporting staff, ensuring continuity in production and maintenance processes.
The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Project Managers to develop clear, comprehensive documentation that supports training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of translating complex technical information into user-friendly materials.
In addition to documenting work instructions and troubleshooting guides, the Technical Writer will work alongside the Quality team to update, organize, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) procedures. Knowledge of ISO standards is highly beneficial to ensure compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and interview Production employees, Engineers, and supporting staff to capture institutional knowledge.
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and technical manuals.
- Standardize documentation to improve training, onboarding, and process consistency.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance in all technical materials.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Project Managers to refine documentation.
- Assist the Quality team in updating, organizing, and maintaining QMS procedures in alignment with ISO standards.
- Support additional technical writing and knowledge management initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and document complex technical processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, quality, or production environments.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or other quality management systems.
- Experience with content management systems or digital documentation tools.
