At Guy F. Atkinson Construction (Atkinson Construction) many of our most valued employees work in the field and are members of various labor unions.
As a union contractor, we work on a referral process from the local union halls for the hiring of all craft workers.
This includes Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, and General Foreman.
- Bridge Carpenter responsibilities include, but not limited to : construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures made from wood and other materials;
- construct, erect, repair, and dismantle built-in-place or prefabricated forms for concrete structures; construct formwork for placement of concrete;
- assemble columns or wall formwork (gang forms, stick build, slip forms, etc.); erect temporary handrails and associated safety-related items;
sawing, stripping, nailing, burning, measuring, tightening / loosening bolts and drilling.
Additionally, the Carpenter Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and schedule a crew of eight (8) or more carpenters.
