We are seeking an Engineering Manager Energy to join our team in our Richland, WA office.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Manages a diverse group of engineers to deliver analyses such as FEA and CFD calculations for design projects along with the development of Robotics systems for the commercial nuclear industry and government clients.
• Interfaces with clients and successfully delivers engineering products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
• Oversees cost, timeliness, quality and technical adequacy of the engineering services provided through regular reviews and evaluations.
• Ensures that work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Ensures all project engineering activities are performed in accordance with both statutory requirements and best practices in safety and quality.
• Ensures that all design work is executed effectively and that suitable multi-discipline reviews are undertaken to ensure adequacy to project functional requirements.
• Fosters a team environment and team building within Engineering and with internal and external customers. Coordinates closely with counterparts in other engineering offices, including work and resource sharing.
• Establishes the technical approach to achieve project requirements and ensures the design satisfies these requirements.
• Manages the design process and products configuration in accordance with approved procedures.
• Oversees the preparation of cost estimates for engineering services to internal and external clients.
• Operates in a matrix environment serving a variety of project managers, balancing and addressing multiple conflicting priorities.
• Implements planning, scheduling and tracking of project engineering activities, commitments, costs and labor resources.
• Manages and controls charges to indirect cost accounts to ensure that costs remain within budgeted amounts.
• Develops new business opportunities in robotics and grow the team as needed to support the new projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years industry related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting DOE or commercial nuclear projects.
• Successful management experience.
• Demonstrated technical and management abilities, including proficient oral and written communication skills and the ability to scope, task and control the work assigned to a team of engineers who support multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to critically review work products produced by the Engineering team, and provide technical guidance, feedback, mentorship and perform required quality control functions for detailed engineering calculations such as FEA and CFD models.
• Ability to constructively interact with both internal and external customers, including project management staff, clients and other engineering supervisors.
• Experience with robotics & automation system design, systems engineering, awareness of robotics standards and best practices (e.g. ISO 10218-2).
• Business development experience desired to help grow the robotics team.
• Self-starter who can work in a team environment with minimal direction and supervision.
• Applies experience and judgment with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Proven ability to successfully implement planning, scheduling and tracking initiatives.
• Experience with using FEA tools such as ANSYS preferred.
• Experience with the design of Robotics systems preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
• Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.

Expected compensation range is between $129,000 - $215,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
