We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Finance Manager/Principal Consultant to join our Idaho Falls, ID office. This role will provide high quality rolling stock related consultancy services to clients primarily in the field of maintaining and operating rail equipment and related contract management. The role shall require;
- Prior knowledge of rail operations and maintenance with experience in life cycle cost modeling (addressing both Opex and Capex passenger equipment ) as well as a good understanding of maintenance scheduling.
- Knowledge and expertise in rollingstock procurement and engineering in areas that include testing and commissioning, reliability management and warranty management.
- General accounting, financial management, budgeting and planning, disbursement operations, and project finance experience in the passenger rail environment.
- Prior experience dealing with federal and state funding practices and requirements.
In addition support may be required to support others within the AtkinsRéalis Rail & Transit group, including compilation of bids and marketing the services of the AtkinsRealis Transit group.

How will you contribute to the team?
Provide Fleet management support services for a passenger rail operation that has both locomotives and passenger rail cars.
Specifically provide financial management expertise to the Fleet manager and the end client (to support the development of solutions for maintenance, operational and equipment ownership) to include cost analysis, cost estimating, auditing, budgeting, planning/scheduling and execution.
Support the development of daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the client
Provide coordination with multiple parties/stakeholders including the client, other states, the passenger equipment operator and maintainer as well as the car builder providing maintenance support services through the maintainer under a Maintenance services agreement (TSSSA).
Provide quality feedback and reports to the client and the AtkinsRealis project team as required.
Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the end clients and/or AtkinsRealis procedures and corporate requirements, including the Quality Management System, Safety Management System and Ethics/Compliance.
Represent the client and the client’s interests in performing Fleet management oversight that will include operations and maintenance that will include both warranty and Reliability Management.
Assist the Clients Department Manager as well as the Fleet manager in realizing project objectives.
Support the development of strategies to assist AtkinsRéalis Rail & Transit grow its rolling stock product line.
Domestic travel will range from 0% to 50% on a month-to-month basis.
Ensure that each assignment or project is undertaken by individuals or by teams having appropriate levels of qualifications, professional expertise and experience.
Ensure that work is completed within deadlines, to budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
Support monthly invoice development and ensure that invoices are submitted in a timely manner.
Hold and maintain regular meetings and maintain meeting minutes and action items.
Ensure that the roles and responsibilities of team members on each assignment or project are defined and understood.
Ensure submitted work is checked to ensure compliance to internal quality standards and the client’s expectations.
Ensure at least a general understanding of project tasks managed at a project engineer level, which may include topics that cover mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, operations and maintenance, reliability, quality, and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Finance and/or Business Administration and 10 years of experience in the passenger rail industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A generalist background, experience with rail vehicle systems and/or experience with multiple vehicle types is a plus.
The initial project/task will involve remote working coupled with short visits as needed to Chicago/Mid West for meetings with the client or for on-site time-to-time presence at the maintenance facilities where the clients passenger rail fleet maintenance is being performed.
Work hours will need to be flexible to accommodate project scope needs and times.
