What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clipper Tie position at Atkore?
Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Clipper Tie Operator to be based out of Hebron, OH. Reporting to Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for running a clip gun, loading magazines, and clipping coil loops together in a line along with wire tie operation and packaging.
What you’ll do:
- Adherence to Atkore Safety / Life Saving Rules is paramount
- Demonstrate core values
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Clips coil loops together using an air-operated clip gun
- Change magazines or feeds strips of clips into clip guns
- Moving baskets or coils into position
- Removes tie wires (WIP-type products)
- Aligning barbs or loops into the proper position prior to clipping
- Removing extra clips
- Daily cleaning of the work area
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma and at minimum 1-year manufacturing-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Lean concept sustainment & problem-solving skills
- Safety action orientated
- Flexibility of shift schedule including overtime and weekends
- Must have an outgoing positive attitude, be a team player and have a strong work ethic
- Demonstrates Atkore Core Behaviors – Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally team lift more than 50 pounds. Be able to push and pull extremely heavy loads using leverage tools
- Ensure proper clipping sequences are met
- Look for damaged barbs and verify quality product
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Setting up the work area
- Minor mechanical repairs or adjustments
- Loading magazines
- Assist roll former with minor adjustments and material changes
