Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Director of Quality to be based out of Dallas, TX. Reporting to the President of Plastic, Pipe & Conduit, this person will be responsible oversight of the entire Quality Assurance (QA) process for the Plastic, Pipe & Conduit Strategic Business Unit, and will ensure that technical capabilities, best-practices, and cost-control issues are shared among all plant locations.
The ideal candidate will have 7 - 10 years of experience in multi-site quality management, preferably within a business system-based company as a quality director, black belt or similar role. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Drive quality improvement efforts and align them with strategic deployment.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance quality and value.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve breakthrough objectives.
- Standardize quality processes and practices across the organization to ensure consistency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to internal and supplier quality teams.
- Implement and maintain the Atkore quality management system, ensuring compliance with customer expectations, ISO standards, and all relevant laws and regulations.
- Design and execute an audit process to ensure adherence to the quality management system, including conducting annual management reviews.
- Lead our product specific certifications process (NSF,FM,UL,ETL)
- Serve as the primary contact for customer, intra-divisional, interdivisional, and escalated quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of preventative measures.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, business management) required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Ten to fifteen years progressive experience in management roles across various disciplines or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated general management skills including team building, process-based manufacturing, strategy deployment, problem solving, conflict resolution and quality management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to get results through influence.
- In depth knowledge of Quality Management/ISO:9001, SPC, Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen (ASQ certification desired).
- Demonstrated competency in working across business departments with an integrated team to achieve positive results.
- Ability to travel 25-50%.
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Complete your Atkore Onboarding & Immersion program
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy
- Visit the locations you support and begin building relationships with site contacts
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Manage Key Process Indicators and Targets To Improve (TTI) dashboards for Strategy Deployment Process.
- Support quality improvement projects at the corporate / SDP level.
- Provide input and feedback to key leadership positions about process improvement opportunities specific to all parts of the organization.
- Champion, Sponsor, or Facilitate our current quality programs
Within 12 months, you’ll:
- Identify, create, and sustain quality processes and standards throughout the organization.
- Partner with all functions to define process capabilities, assess gaps and develop gap closure plans.
- Provide functional leadership with awareness, knowledge and guidance of quality principles, methodologies and tools to support achievement of Atkore’s business objectives.
- Mentor, influence, and develop potential quality leaders through their projects driving business change.
- Conduct training of training on quality principles and tools.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $147,120 - $202,290. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
