What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Atkore?
What you’ll do
- Test, locate and repair trouble in electrical circuits and equipment; perform electronic equipment repair and troubleshooting; repair and replace broken or defective parts; repair electrical motors, parts, wiring and other electrical devices.
- Use knowledge of principles, methods and equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and electronic equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and manuals.
- Work within team environment with minimum supervision.
- Exercise judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
- Provide assistance to maintenance personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Performs housekeeping as required in the Maintenance shop area
- Know and follow plant safety rules and wears proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and gloves)
- Adheres to all lock out/tag out (LO/TO) procedures
- Perform all job duties using safe work methods
- Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision
- Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately
- Able to prioritize tasks and anticipate needs in order to effectively manage time in order to accomplish all tasks
- Must be available for call in duty
- Must be able to work rotating shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as required
- Must perform any other job duties as assigned by supervision
- Assists coworkers of higher grade in all aspects of installation, modification, maintenance, repair of plant process equipment and systems and support equipment
- Perform regular audits in-process audits to ensure processes and products comply with standards.
What you’ll bring:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Electrician in Manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
