What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine operator position at Atkore?
Machine Operator ($ per hour $ shift differential)
Swing Shift Monday through Friday, : pm to : pm
We are currently searching for a Machine Operator to be based out of Molalla, Oregon. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Machine Operators work to maintain, control, and operate equipment used in the manufacturing of plastic pellets.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Material Handler or equivalent position at Atkore and experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.
This position starting base rate is $ per hour with a $ per hour shift differential for hours worked on swing shift. Atkore offers a competitive pay and benefits package.
What you’ll do :
- Read and interpret production schedules; maintain production log.
- Conduct visual inspections on machine components to ensure they are working properly.
- Keep a steady flow of raw materials to maintain production.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing material to the machine, adjusting, as necessary.
- Identify and troubleshoot quality issues.
- Work effectively as a member of a team.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
What you’ll bring :
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
- Must be adaptable to change; comfortable with multiple competing demands; and able to calmly handle unexpected events or delays.
- Comfortable working outdoors under cover in varying temperatures (hot or cold).
- Capable of lifting up to pounds unassisted and standing for an -hour shift.
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
- Be well-versed in Atkore’s Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
