What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at ATL Construction Inc.?
We are looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators who will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment. In this position, you will be expected to follow safety protocols, perform routine maintenance checks, and ensure that the equipment is functioning properly. You will be required to work in a variety of settings, including construction sites and commercial sites.
Duties and responsibilities
Operate heavy earthmoving equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid steers and backhoes to move materials and earth (bucket/forks/hammer etc)
Must be able to work safely in close proximity to ground workers. Be able to follow detailed instruction. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure proper functioning
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to ensure project success
Operate equipment in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
Complete daily logs and reports to track equipment usage and maintenance
Perform other related duties as assigned (i.e shoveling/raking) by management
Requirements and qualifications
Must be legal to work in the USA
Experience in operating heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid steers and excavators
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation
Physical strength and ability to operate equipment for extended periods of time
Valid minimum 2A Massachusetts hoisting license
Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
Valid DOT medical card
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working in construction, excavation, or other related industries
Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
