Position Overview: This role is a key financial accounting partner that performs general accounting tasks on a daily/monthly basis, provides reconciliation and analysis assistance, delivers accurate financial results and conducts accounting research. This position will be expected to gain a detailed understanding of accounting policies, P&L accounts, balance sheet accounts, and some complex accounting topics.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for performing complex accounting needs, such as –
- Working directly with third-party concessioner to record month-end estimates and actuals. Reviewing financial results and understand factors driving variances and if reasonable.
- Prepare and record barter and trade revenues, coordinating usage and contractual obligations with internal and external parties
- Overseeing radio and sponsorship revenues and expenses. This includes but not limited to:
- Contract review, including initial signing and amendments
- Billing and invoicing the corporate sponsors (customers)
- Ongoing communications with both internal corporate sponsors team and customers
- Daily and month-end duties such as revenue recognition, depositing payments and subsequent application to account, deferred revenue clearing, and expense and/or fee accruals
- Review of aged balances and coordinating payments with the customers
- Record ticket and other miscellaneous revenues
- Assume a leadership role, which can include managing accounting personnel in daily tasks and delegating financial responsibilities to the team
- Prepare journal entries, including recurring journal entries and month end accruals
- Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts
- Work closely with multiple department leaders on their financial results
- Perform accounting research and assist with analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variances
- Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Monitoring and responding to internal departments and external customers via shared email inbox
- Contributing to the development and review of process documentation and internal controls

- Follow proper internal audit guidelines
- Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits
- Actively supports and contributes to the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
- Other Ad Hoc requests from the business or finance leaders
- Perform other duties as required
- BS or BBA in accounting required
- Public accounting experience required
- CPA or CPA track not required, but highly preferred
- Experience with Workday highly preferred
- At least three years of accounting experience
- Customer service orientation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel)
- Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others, in order to meet deadlines
