Who We Are :
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries about where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
About the Role :
We’re looking for an process oriented, results driver and collaborative Contract Accountant to support a critical process improvement project within our Accounts Payable (AP) function. If you have a solid accounting background and are passionate about enhancing processes, this may be the project for you.
What You’ll Do :
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to map and document the current Accounts Payable process workflow.
- Communicate with vendors to collect data in a timely and confidential manner.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and maintain schedules to ensure timelines are met.
- Secure and store ACH details and assist with setting up the vendor portal.
- Update vendor information in the Accounts Payable System.
- Meet with stakeholders to document current processes and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide ongoing support to vendors and internal teams, gather feedback, and propose improvements to enhance AP efficiency and security.
