JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Sandy Springs Campus team, you’ll work with both day and residential students in a beautiful, nature-rich setting that enhances the educational experience.
This role is a unique opportunity to be part of the founding team building our new Sandy Springs campus. As an essential member of our collaborative Secondary School Team, you’ll help shape and grow this new campus, bringing resilience, adaptability, and a solution-focused mindset essential for a startup environment. Teachers at the Sandy Springs Campus benefit from strong support within a unified, dual-campus structure, working closely with IB Coordinators, a departmental leader, and a team of subject teachers at the Buckhead Campus. This partnership enables a rich exchange of resources, expertise, and shared goals across both campuses.
This is a full-time position teaching Computer Science at the Sandy Springs Campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Computer Science Teacher in Grades 6-12, you will be expected to contribute to a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. A passion for working with adolescent learners, flexible attitude, and a sense of humor are essential. Key responsibilities include :
Align all teaching practices with AIS’s Definition of High Quality Learning and Teaching, ensuring that each lesson empowers students to transfer skills for impactful, positive contributions towards an inclusive, sustainable future.
Create a classroom culture that values equity, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging.
Provide pastoral support as an advisor to a group of students within a specified grade level, building relationships and guiding students’ personal and social development.
Use a variety of formative and summative assessments aligned with IB standards to monitor and support student progress.
Guide students in the development of their IB Personal Projects and / or Extended Essays, supporting them in conducting research, refining their inquiry skills, and presenting their findings.
Work with other educators to plan interdisciplinary units that connect learning across subjects.
Encourage students to set learning goals, pursue personal inquiries, and reflect on their growth.
