Atlanta International School, in partnership with Horizons Atlanta, is seeking a dedicated Summer Counselor to support the social-emotional well-being of students participating in our summer programs. The counselor will lead daily Social Emotional Learning (SEL) classes for each grade level in the Horizons program and provide open office hours for all students on campus attending summer camps. This role also includes responding to emergency counseling situations as needed.

- Conduct engaging and developmentally appropriate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions for each grade level in the Horizons summer program
- Use evidence-based practices to help students build skills in emotional regulation, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and resilience
- Hold two hours of open office hours daily to provide short-term counseling support for all summer camp students on campus
- Available for individual and small-group counseling to help students navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Work closely with camp staff to identify students who may need additional support
- Be available to address urgent counseling needs as they arise
- Work with families, program directors, and staff to ensure students receive appropriate support

- Communicate with parents and guardians when necessary to provide guidance and referrals
- Coordinate with camp staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3 PM
- Friday: Flexible hours based on program needs
- Completed Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or counseling settings
- Strong understanding of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) principles and practices
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to crises and urgent situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
- Experience in diverse, multicultural settings is preferred
