Atlanta Legal Aid Society (“Legal Aid”) seeks an Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director and Deputy Director of Atlanta Legal Aid, as well as the Board of Directors. Founded in 1924, our non-profit law firm represents low-income people in a variety of civil legal matters including family, housing, consumer, public benefits, education and health law in a five-county service area (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett). Legal Aid employs over 150 staff and operates five offices and numerous units, programs and projects throughout its service area. Our clients and their legal issues are diverse and numerous.
Responsibilities :
- Providing professional, high-level administrative support to the Executive Director and Deputy Director, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and preparing correspondence
- Assisting the Executive Director in supporting the Officers, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors, including scheduling meetings, maintaining official records, drafting and revising official documents, and providing other administrative support
- Maintaining and organizing confidential files, reports, and legal documents
- Drafting, proofreading, and editing reports, presentations, and meeting minutes
- Serving as a liaison between the Executive Director, Deputy Director and internal / external stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication
- Assisting in planning and coordinating special events, board meetings, and training sessions
- Managing travel arrangements and expense reports
- Responding to external inquiries from potential clients, vendors, and others, with compassion and patience
- In coordination with the Deputy Director, responsible for following up with clients who had made complaints or filed grievances
- Providing support to other members of the senior leadership team from time to time as requested
- Performing other administrative duties as needed to support the organization’s goals
