Why This Role Matters
As a Senior Gift Officer, you will play a pivotal role in Atlanta Mission’s long-term financial sustainability and growth. You will cultivate deep relationships with high-capacity donors and help them align their faith with their generosity—securing transformational gifts that ensure lasting impact.
This role is more than just fundraising. It’s about discipleship through stewardship—guiding donors as they invest in a God-honoring mission that brings hope and restoration to those in need.
Key Responsibilities
Building Meaningful Donor Relationships:
- Manage a portfolio of 125-150 major donors and prospects capable of making gifts of $10,000
- Personally engage donors through face-to-face meetings, calls, and written communications
- Create customized giving strategies that align with donors' philanthropic goals and faith values
- Secure major gifts and planned gifts to sustain and grow Atlanta Mission’s programs
Strategic Fundraising & Impactful Storytelling:
- Develop and present compelling cases for support that inspire generosity
- Work closely with leadership and program teams to identify funding opportunities
- Gather and share transformational stories that illustrate the real impact of giving
- Leverage donor testimonials in marketing and communication materials
Corporate Engagement & Partnerships:
- Develop a corporate giving strategy to secure sponsorships and deepen community partnerships
- Create tailored sponsorship packages for fundraising events and initiatives
- Engage corporate donors in hands-on ministry opportunities
Stewardship & Donor Analytics:
- Track and analyze giving trends to optimize donor engagement strategies
- Ensure all donor interactions are recorded in Salesforce for seamless tracking
- Report progress and revenue forecasts to leadership
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a seasoned, faith-driven fundraising professional with:
- 5-7 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, donor relations, or philanthropy
- A track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals and corporations
- A deep understanding of biblical stewardship and faith-based philanthropy
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to engage high-net-worth donors
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities to inspire generosity
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align donor interests with mission priorities
- Experience managing a $1M portfolio with a proven ability to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Proficiency in CRM systems like Salesforce for tracking donor engagement
