Under supervision, the Safety Inspector performs inspections for compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations, and standards of elevators, carnival and amusement park rides, and boiler and pressure vessels to ensure safety and compliance.

May perform safety surveys and inspections.

Knowledgeable of changes in state, OSHA, NFPA, and other safety codes and regulations as applicable.

Interprets and administers regulatory issues, technical issues, and analytical data to document compliance with safety laws and regulations to ensure safety and well-being of the public.

Monitors and records functionality and location of emergency equipment and other related items.

Plans and coordinates inspections and audits of assigned facilities/sites for procedural compliance, or to maintain appropriate accreditation.

Provides guidance and consultation regarding safety inspections, and other related activities.

Utilizes a variety of monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to gather and enter data records.

Performs training, data management, and related equipment maintenance.

Performs other duties as assigned.
