JOB SUMMARY
The forklift position is a detail oriented and organized position that requires planning, follow-through, and excellent communication skills. Will have to keep the yard organized and maintained. This is a critical role in operations throughout the shop. This position is responsible for the safety of those around you and maintaining material needs throughout the shop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Forklift experience moving full size granite slabs
- May have to work overtime or some weekends to keep up with material demands
- Always keep the yard organized and clean to be prepared for new material coming in and utilizing existing material.
- All material has a specific place in the yard and showroom. It is your job to make sure this happens, and products are in the correct areas.
- Make sure each saw always has material requested during the day.
- Take remnants out of the shop and put them in the proper location.
- Keep a daily log of any material that is no longer usable.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Ability to safely operate forklift
- Ability to read packing slips and bills of lading
- Ability to interpret work orders
- Ability to work with subcontractors, vendors, and other employees.
- Must excel at working in a team environment.

- Required to walk through 100,000 sq. ft warehouse constantly.
- Required to use foot controls constantly.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
