Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
- Provide care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including animal housing areas.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.
- Assist with stocking, cleaning and assisting technicians.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Pet care within a veterinary clinic setting.
- Understanding of animal anatomy and physiology.
- Skills in animal restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques for surgical preparation.
- Proficiency in dog handling and general animal husbandry practices.
