Job Description
The Automotive Parts Delivery Driver drives company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts in the local area. He/she transports products from local parts sources and delivers them to our dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
The Parts Driver has experience driving and/or automotive parts and accessories knowledge. Their work is multifaceted, as they are required to drive to deliver auto parts to customers and pick out the orders that they deliver. It is the Parts Driver who pulls the order out of inventory and handles returns. Since the Parts Delivery Driver is in direct contact with customers, they need to possess a neat, clean, and professional appearance. They must be courteous and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license, and a clean driving record. Candidates must be able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles and must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance (checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks, etc.). Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
Eligible candidates will be required to pass a background/DMV/Drug screen. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensures safe and on-time delivery of parts to the dealership using company vehicles and following all company procedures and standards
- Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and performs routine maintenance tasks
- Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road
- Monitors parts inventory and maintains storage area in good condition
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles, accessories, and promotions
- Completes any reports or logs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience driving and/or with automotive parts and accessories preferred
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Highly professional and dependable
- Safety and customer service oriented
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
- Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus
