We continuously seek the best talent around the world and, at this moment, we have an opening in the following position: Test Stand Technician located in Big Spring, Texas.
Position Objective:
The Test Stand Technician will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test stands for testing wind turbine components and systems. This role involves working closely with test stand responsible and technical teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. The technician will also be involved in assembling, disassembling, and modifying test equipment.
I. Duties
Test Stand Operation:
- Operate and monitor test stands used to test wind turbine components such as main shafts, gearboxes, and control systems.
- Ensure that test procedures are followed accurately and that data is collected and recorded properly.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance on test stands to ensure proper functionality and prevent breakdowns.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to understand testing requirements and provide support during the testing process.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address any issues or concerns related to test stand operations.
- Working closely with technicians in repairing, assembling, disassembling, and modifying jobs during test stand downtimes.
Data Analysis:
- Analyze test data and generate reports for engineering teams, highlighting any deviations or anomalies observed during testing.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and procedures.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure that all testing activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of test procedures, equipment maintenance, and test results.
- Contribute to developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Technical and Administrative Competencies:
- Advanced management of preventive and corrective maintenance
- Expertise in mechanical systems, ensuring their efficiency and functionality.
- Mastery of electrical and electronic systems, ensuring their performance and safety.
- An advanced understanding of safety principles.
- Advanced expertise in the wind industry.
- Proficiency in using and calibrating testing equipment and instrumentation, with the ability to effectively collect, interpret, and apply data for performance analysis and diagnostics.
- Advanced understanding of wind turbine gearboxes and main shafts.

- Expert in delivering clear and effective communication across various mediums.
- Highly skilled in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues

Requirements:
- Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electromechanical high school or university degree.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the following:
- Wind Industry.
- Test bench operation.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in the following:
- Testing equipment and instrumentation.
- Mechanical experience with power transmissions and bearings.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in the following:
- Team Training.
- Electrical experience (fuses, breakers, wiring, motors, 240/480 electrical).
Required Diploma: Yes.
Language: Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
Availability to travel: Yes.
Car and driver's license: Yes, (10%) occasional for training purposes.
Salary: $24 /Hour.
